CIVS Visited by Cleveland Cliffs
February 7, 2020
Cleveland Cliffs’ Director of Safety and Loss Control, Bryan Baird CMSP visited CIVS on January 28 to try out several virtual safety training simulators for potential use within the company.
Among the simulators that were reviewed was the fire extinguisher simulator, which used Virtual Reality to put users in front of a simulated fire and lets them practice using the extinguisher and putting out the fire with the PASS method (Pull the pin, Aim the nozzle, Squeeze the handle, Sweep back and forth). Baird discussed the potential of safety simulators with CIVS researchers John Moreland and Kyle Toth, as well as plans for using the simulators in Cleveland Cliffs future training.
