CHESS Names Outstanding Graduate in Behavioral Sciences Department
Maya Montoya, a 2020 PNW graduate in human development and family studies with a concentration in individual family services, plans to pursue a career as a licensed school psychologist. She has minors in sociology, psychology and human services.
Montoya said she receive individual attention as a result of small class sizes that helped her succeed as a student. She cited faculty members Anne Edwards, Kevin Hynes and Gisele Casanova as significant influences during her study at PNW.
“These professors provided a learning environment that was both challenging and interesting at the same time,” she said. “More importantly, these professors took time out of their busy schedules to help me outside of the classroom whenever I had questions about an assignment or needed assistance in filling out my graduate school application.”
She plans to begin graduate study at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology this fall.
