Level Up: Syllabus

The syllabus is often a student’s first introduction to a course and to you as the instructor. What first impressions are students getting from the syllabus about you and the course?  Come to this session to Level Up your syllabus!  Learn about the purposes of a syllabus, the impact of language and tone, and how to make your syllabus more engaging.

  • Examine your syllabus from a student perspective
  • Assess the tone, language and policies in your syllabus for inclusivity and engagement
  • Identify modifications you can make to your syllabus to make it more engaging

This session is part of the Level Up Workshop Series offered by the Center for Faculty Excellence and the Office of Instructional Technology.
