Faculty Book Club (Hammond)
February 27, 2020 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
Book Author: Sam Kean
Book Description (Summary by Wendy St. Jean, Book Club Facilitator): “The book is full of stories about our connections to the physical world, and it is interdisciplinary, so faculty from many fields will find golden nuggets in it to bring back and share with their students. Each chapter is characterized as a theme: money, war, politics, medicine and others. Each theme derives from a cluster of elements in the periodic table. Kean explains how certain elements were found and how they relate to each other. Kean also presents the incredible stories of the people who discovered each element.” Read more about the book Opens in new tab.
