Building Community Through the Arts

The Building Community Through Arts (BCTA) program was established to reach the diverse external communities served by the university.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our fall BCTA event, Calaveras, Carnitas y Celebración. We look forward to seeing you at our spring event!

About BCTA

The program enriches the educational experience for our students and serves as an opportunity to promote the communities we serve. We enjoy a positive response from our faculty, staff and students each semester. We also strengthen the university’s relationship with individuals and organizations in our ethnically and culturally rich communities.

The program is directed by a committee whose members represent areas from across the campus community. BCTA events happen twice a year, typically once in the fall semester and once in the spring semester. Event location and themes vary, though typically serve to create cultural awareness, civic engagement and preserve community identity.
