The Personal is Political: How the Combahee River Collective Changed Feminist Thought

Hear from a roundtable of PNW faculty and staff on how the Combahee River Collective’s legacy still impacts feminists.

During the height of 1970s white, class-privileged feminist movement, a group of Black, lesbian women formed the Combahee River Collective to advocate for class equity, women of color and queer communities “with the goal of liberating all oppressed people.” This legacy carried on for 50 years and guides efforts to achieve a more inclusive movement and society in the U.S. and worldwide.
